A Stitch at a Time – Fashion Event/Nepal Fundraiser in Fremantle last weekend was a truly great evening. Buoyant with the spirit of celebration and generosity, models of all ages and sizes danced along a catwalk made of deep, earthy, red and sunset orange Persian rugs supplied by Shedwallah. Old soul music filled the space during the interval where punters perused ethical fashion project Anjel Ms new Winter Collection in the pop-up shop, got organic henna tattoos by Mint’s Henna, checked out the photography exhibition by Rez Nez who happened to land in Kathmandu the day of the earthquake or placed their bids in the silent auction – which by the way, was a stunning display of community at a most impressive level. Check out the amazing and bountiful contributions from local businesses here.
$5800 was raised towards the crowdfunding campaign www.gofundme.com/restoringnepal generating funds for much needed emergency relief for earthquake victims in Nepal. To event organiser Gaelle Beech, all the volunteers, attendees and the greater community who donated and supported the cause, I feel blessed to have been a part of it. Thank you and congratulations on a wonderful evening!
